Fall Feeling Like Summer In Sacramento As Record-Breaking Heat Bakes Region
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The calendar says October, but the mercury is saying July.
A high-pressure system is bringing record-breaking temperatures to the Sacramento region for the second consecutive day.
Listening to some people in Midtown on Tuesday, you'd think they were talking about a losing sports team that's let them down season after season.
"I'm done with it; there's nothing I can do," said one man.
In Midtown Sacramento, the only coats out on what was supposed to be a fall day were on dogs. Many people instead grabbed shade and a cool treat as temperatures ran into the mid-90s—15 degrees above normal.
"It's a little irritating. I like to wear boots, change up my wardrobe a little," said Shelly Hinkle.
Shop owner says people are buying clothing usually reserved for July—tank tops, flip flops and T-shirts.
"Gives us the opportunity to get rid of some last bits of summer goods that we have left over from summer moving into fall," he said.
