PITTSBURGH (93-7 The Fan) - Rumors are swirling about New York Yankees pitcher, A.J. Burnett possibly being traded to the Pirates. WFAN Yankees beat reporter, Sweeney Murti joined the Fan Morning Show on Tuesday to talk about the deal.

While the deal is not done, Murti says it is "far enough down the road where you would be surprised if it didn't happen."

The biggest question and the reason the deal has not been done is because of the money involved with his remaining contract. Also, which (if any) players will be involved from the Pirates side. One name that was rumored was Garrett Jones. Murti tells the fan that the prospect of the Jones trade "died pretty quickly" after rumors surfaced.
