Woman Wanted After Bacon Grease Assault

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Police in Lawrence County are searching for a woman who allegedly threw hot bacon grease on her boyfriend after an argument.

Police say the scene played out on the front porch of a house on South Mill Street in New Castle. It was just after 10 p.m. last Thursday.

Authorities identify the couple involved as 37-year-old Shawntay Thomas and her 49-year-old boyfriend, Jasper Williams III.

"Him and his girlfriend were at the house and got into a verbal dispute," said Chief Robert Salem, of New Castle Police. "During the argument, he went outside and sat on the porch; his girlfriend came outside and threw bacon grease on him."

Williams says it was a cup of hot bacon grease.

Afterwards, he left the house and was taken to Jameson Hospital where he called police.

"It burned his face, his neck and chest area," said Chief Salem.

KDKA's Brenda Waters spoke with Williams on the phone.

He did not want to appear on camera because he wants to protect the 6-year-old daughter he and Thomas have together.

Police have Williams is listed as living across the street in the house with Thomas. But he told KDKA that he moved out after the incident, and says that Thomas is now his ex-girlfriend.

Williams told KDKA he spoke with Thomas, who says she will turn herself in Thursday at 9 a.m. to District Justice Melissa Amodie's office.

Until then, there is a warrant for her arrest for domestic violence, simple assault and harassment.
