Study: Students Using Laptops & Tablets In Class Perform Worse On Exams
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Advances in technology has led to a new kind of classroom experience, but experts say that may not be for the best.
According to findings from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, students allowed to use laptops and tablets in the classroom did 18 percent worse on exams than those not allowed to access the devices.
Researchers found that students allowed to use the tablets and laptops were easily distracted, spending time on the internet, chatting with friends or doing work for other classes.
