Runaway Teenager From Uniontown Found, Man Charged
UNIONTOWN (KDKA) -- A man has been charged after police say he ran off with a teenager from Fayette County.
The Herald Standard reports Shawn Ruby was arrested Tuesday in Cumberland, Maryland.
Police say Ruby picked up 17-year-old Paige Smonsy from her house in Uniontown last week after she got into a fight with her mother. When Smonsy wanted to return home, police say Ruby refused to let her leave.
Smonsy told police the two hopped on a train car along the Yough River and rode it to Maryland. They were arrested in Cumberland after breaking into a garage.
