PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- The head coach of the Pitt Panthers football team has announced suspensions for two of his players who were involved in separate legal situations this off-season.
According to university officials, coach Pat Narduzzi has suspended both wide receiver Tyler Boyd and defensive lineman Rori Blair for the first game of the season.
Both Boyd and Blair were charged in separate DUI cases earlier this year.
They will miss the season opener against Youngstown State on Sept. 5.
In a press release, Narduzzi says: "In addition to their game suspensions, Tyler and Rori have been, and will continue to be, subject to internal discipline and accountability. The situations were very disappointing and both young men have expressed their regret. Our expectation is that each of them, as well as our entire team, will learn from their mistakes and be better for it moving forward."
The Panthers will open their training camp next week on Aug. 10.
