Pirates Sign Switch-Hitting Infielder
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) — The Pittsburgh Pirates signed Anderson Hernandez Wednesday to a minor league contract.
Hernandez is a switch-hitting infielder and has 240 games of major league experience. He spent all of last year with Houston's Class-AAA affiliate Oklahoma City, batting .300 with six home runs.
Hernandez has a career .241 average in the big leagues.
His contract includes an invitation to spring training.
