Pirates Pitcher Nick Burdi Undergoes Tommy John Surgery

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - The Pirates announced on Sunday that pitcher Nick Burdi underwent Tommy John surgery on October 14 in Dallas.
Burdi was re-evaluated as part of the 10-12 week rehab process and it was determined that he would require surgery.
He is projected to return to full competitive baseball activities in 16-18 months.
The Pirates have reinstated him from the injured list and has been designated for assignment.
