Pirates' Cole Voted NL Rookie Of The Month
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole is the September National League Rookie of the Month.
The last time a Pirates rookie was honored as rookie of the month was back in September 2010, when it went to Pedro Alvarez.
Cole ranked No.1 among all major league rookies by going 4-0 in his five starts this past month.
This month Cole also struck out 12 batters -- a career high – against the San Diego Padres.
