PennDOT Busy In Butler County

BUTLER (KDKA) -- PennDOT in Butler County has already had a busy 24 hours and they were out all night treating roads to prepare them for commuters Tuesday morning.

"We're getting pounded," said Bob Skrak, from PennDOT in Butler. "This could refreeze at anytime."

Skrak said the good news is that the road surface temperature will not go below 19 degrees, which means salt will remain effective. He said one concern, though, is wind blowing the snow back on to roads that have already been treated.

KDKA-TV's David Highfield caught up with Chuck Moody of Butler at Home Depot buying shovels and rock salt. He said it's too early for winter and he wants to go "back down to Florida!"
