PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - Tick season will be here before you know it, and there's a new effort to get schools prepared for it.

State Sen. Michele Brooks of Mercer County wants to require districts to have protocols in place for tick removal at school.

They would have to notify parents about the removal and symptoms of Lyme disease.
