Neighbors Report McKeesport House To Health Department
MCKEESPORT (KDKA) -- Neighbors who live next door to a home in McKeesport are frustrated that neither the city, nor the Allegheny County Health Department has stepped in to help resolve a rodent and insect infestation problem at a nearby house.
The people who live near 3510 Orchard Avenue said they've repeatedly complained about the situation there, but their complaints have fallen on deaf ears so far.
Will Valentyne says the home next door to his is crawling with insects is rotting away.
"Every morning, my wife would come outside, and there would be roaches on my door," he said.
Valentyne and another neighbor have had to hire an exterminator to come in and routinely spray their homes.
James Fallert, another neighbor, said he's found rodent droppings all over his house and now he's seeing a lot of roaches.
The homeowner moved out last October and then rented the home to another family. The most recent tenants say vandals are really responsible for a lot of the problems.
"They took Italian dressing and poured it all over the couches, and took ketchup and threw it on the walls," Alexandria Coyne, a former tenant, said.
The McKeesport building inspector did not return a call for comment.
