Mt. Pleasant Gives Warm Welcome To Guardsmen

MT. PLEASANT (KDKA) - Mount Pleasant is holding a grand welcome for a group of National Guardsmen who are returning from Afghanistan.

The troops were expected to arrive between 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.

Mount Pleasant firefighters are meeting them at the highway to escort them through town to the Armory.

Mayor Jerry Lucia announced the homecoming during Thursday's Veterans Day memorial. He asked businesses and community members to show their support. He says it's a way to say thanks to the men and women who are serving our country.

The guardsmen will be reunited with their families at the Mount Pleasant Armory.
