Michigan Man Dies After Driving Off Route 51 Overpass
JEFFERSON HILLS (KDKA) -- A Michigan man died in a Pittsburgh hospital early Saturday morning after driving off a Route 51 overpass and falling onto the road below.
The fatal accident occurred around 1:15 a.m.

According to the medical examiner, 68-year-old Steven Gjerstad of Grand Blanc, Mich., was driving southbound on Route 51 near the Elizabeth Bridge and attempted to take a northbound ramp on an overpass, when he went over the jersey barrier and fell onto Route 837 below.
Gjerstad was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
