Man Charged With Killing Wife's Alleged Lover Found Guilty

GREENSBURG (KDKA) -- A man accused of killing his wife's alleged lover has been found guilty.

Richard McAnulty, 55, was accused of fatally shooting 39-year-old Harry Mears II in Greensburg last year.

According to police, McAnulty kicked in the door of a house along Oakland Avenue and shot Mears in July of 2010. When Mears tried to flee from a second-floor window, neighbors told McAnulty shot Mears at least two more times.

Defense attorneys say McAnulty acted in a heat of passion after reading a series of emails detailing the affair.

The jury found him guilty on all charges, including first degree murder.
