Local Store Mistakenly Gets Shipment Of Packers Gear
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - As the Pittsburgh Steelers work toward their seventh Super Bowl victory, local stores are stocking up on merchandise.
However, one business owner was very surprised to find her shipment full of gold and green.
Tucked away on the corner of 18th Street and Penn Avenue in the Strip District is B.A. Trading. It is a vision of all things Pittsburgh and it's bathed in the beauty of black and gold.
So, you can imagine Marie Lee's horror when her husband called asking her a frightening question.
"'Did you order Green Bay shirts? And I said 'What are you talking about, Green Bay shirts?'" Lee said.
Two boxes of Packers merchandise were in the store and Lee is doing her best to shield the Steelers fans from them.
KDKA's Ross Guidotti: If you put these out, do you think you'd sell any of them
Lee: I don't think so. They [wouldn't] look at it. They wouldn't shop in my store.
Guidotti tried to help Lee out by suggesting the shirts to customers. However, he couldn't find a single buyer.
"They make me sick really, with the color," Lee said of the shirts.
Lee is sending the shirts back to the company. However, she's showing her true colors by packing a "BLK n GLD Forever" license plate in one of the boxes.
Lee is a very superstitious woman. She said if she were to sell any of the items, if could hurt the Steelers' chances in the Super Bowl.
