Local Bus Company Looking For A Few Good Drivers

PITTSBURGH (NewsRadio 1020 KDKA) - Are you looking to put a few extra bucks in your pocket? Local bus companies like Krise Transportation Inc and W.L. Roenigk are now hiring.

"It's very easy to get your CDL license," John Rische with W.L. Roenigk tells the "KDKA Morning News." "That's a misconception that a lot of people have is that it's really hard and tough to get your CDL and school bus endorsement."

Rische says the training takes 4 to 6 weeks and employees are required to get clearances because they work so close with children. He adds while people work toward their CDL, they can drive a school van that doesn't require a CDL.

In addition to driving a bus during the school year, Rische says, "In the summer when you're laid off, you qualify for your unemployment benefits...but on the other side of that too is more and more schools are running summer programs. We do an awful lot of charter work...so there's year-round work."

Rische adds employees won't have to work about paying for their training; the company will take care of that.
