Insurance Company Ordered To Pay For Turnpike Spill Claims

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) - An insurance company must pay for a spill last year on the Pennsylvania Turnpike, which damaged hundreds of vehicles.

According to our news partners at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, a federal judge ruled that a Texas insurance company is responsible for some of the claims.

Last November, a tanker truck sprung a leak and dumped 4,000 to 5,000 gallons of driveway sealant over a 40 mile stretch of the Turnpike between the New Castle and Allegheny Valley exits.

Over 900 drivers have reportedly filed damage claims as a result of this incident.
