Horse In Lawrence Co. Put Down After Falling Into Cistern, Breaking Femur

LAWRENCE COUNTY (KDKA) -- Rescuers were called after a horse in Lawrence County fell into a cistern on Friday.
The horse fell into the covered cistern that the horse's owners did not know about near Frew Mill Road.
Rescue officials worked to get the horse out, but sadly, it suffered a broken femur and had to be put down.
