Former Teammate Cam Saddler Weighs In On Rushel Shell Decision To Transfer
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) - With the news that Rushel Shell is officially transferring from Pitt, his former teammate Cam Saddler provided some insight into how things got to this point.
Saddler joined Starkey, Miller and Mueller on The FAN and told the guys from what he understands, Shell wasn't happy playing at Pitt, didn't like some of the things going on there and was no longer having fun playing football, so he had to get out.
"The main thing with what it sounded like when I talked to him was that just he said, when it got to the point where it wasn't fun anymore, he didn't want it to get to that," Saddler said. "He felt like he was going down that road."
We talked with Saddler about the treatment of super stars at the college level and if Shell expected any sort of special treatment when he came to Pitt being billed as one of the top recruits in the nation.
Saddler also addressed how much of this decision was based on factors outside of football for Shell, where he could end up and what the outlook on the upcoming season is without the teams star running back.
