Fisherman Use Dead Friend's Ashes To Catch Massive Fish

PITTSBURGH (KDKA) – Two British fisherman found a very interesting way to honor their late friend, they reportedly used his ashes as bait to reel in a giant fish.

The Telegraph reports that Ron Hopper, 64, died from cancer before he could go on the fishing trip to Thailand with his friends.

While Hopper was on his deathbed, the three friends decided to take his ashes to be used in a special bait mix.

The bait was called "Purple Ronnie" in honor of their friend.

Using "Purple Ronnie" as bait, the pair reportedly battled and caught a massive 180-pound Siamese carp.

One of the friend said: "We were gutted that Ron couldn't come on the trip because he was really looking forward to it, but he was definitely with us when we caught that fish."

The pair then released the big fish unharmed.
