Firefighters are responding to a fire in the Hunt Armory Building on Emerson Street in Shadyside.  The fire was first reported by employees around 7:15 a.m.  Scanner transmissions say weapons are stored in the building and the building has been evacuated.

Classes at Sacred Heart Elementary School, which is directly across the street from the armory, were briefly delayed. 

UPDATE:  The fire was brought under control at 7:53 a.m.  Fire officials say the fire was on the second floor of the building and did not reach any areas where ammunition is stored.  No injuries have been reported.
