Ed Bouchette Breaks Down AFC Championship Game
Pittsburgh (93-7 The FAN) - Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Steelers Insider Ed Bouchette joined the FAN Morning Show to recap the Steelers' win in the AFC Championship Game.
Bouchette predicted a close game earlier in the week, but after a 24-3 lead at halftime, he thought the game was over. Then, the Jets rallied with 16 points in the second half to make the game too close for some. Bouchette attributes the rally to "human nature."
One concern for the Steelers heading into the Super Bowl is rookie center Maurkice Pouncey's ankle. Bouchette said the Steelers will need Pouncey to block the Green Bay defensive line and thinks he will be ready by the Super Bowl.
Coach Mike Tomlin was known in his first few years for not looking to rookies to contribute to the team, but this year things have changed.
Pouncey, along with receivers Emmanuel Sanders and Antonio Brown, have all contributed to the success of the Steelers this season. Bouchette suspects the Rooney's talked to Tomlin to get the rookies more involved.
