Crash In Export Sends 1 To Hospital
EXPORT (KDKA) -- One passenger was airlifted to a Pittsburgh-area hospital after a crash involving an SUV and a tractor trailer in Westmoreland County.
The accident happened this afternoon near the intersection of Denmark Manor Road and Harrison City Export Road in Export.
Authorities report that a woman had to be cut from the SUV; however, she was alert and conscious when crews got to her.
"From what we can gather... the passenger vehicle, it stopped for the stop sign and proceeded to pull out. However, I don't know if he didn't see the truck or what all happened there that's still under investigation by the police," said Chief Bob Bankosh, of the Claridge Volunteer Fire Department.
The woman's injuries did not appear to be life-threatening.
The truck driver was not injured.
