Bucs: Morton On 15-Day DL With Elbow Injury
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Charlie Morton was placed on the 15-day disabled list Friday with elbow inflammation.
He first started feeling discomfort in a May 12 start and, according to a report on the Post-Gazette's website, the issue has lingered.
"It never got to the point where I was really over it," Morton said. "Some days it's good, some days it's not so good. The idea is that we want to take care of it now before it gets worse."
Morton is 2-6 this season with a 4.65 ERA. He has struggled his last three starts.
With Morton on the DL, reliever Juan Cruz has taken his spot on the active roster.
Reliever Brad Lincoln will start in place of Morton Tuesday at Cincinnati.
