Bucs: A.J. Burnett To Make Rehab Start With Triple-A Indianapolis
PITTSBURGH (93-7 The FAN) -- Pirates starting pitcher A.J. Burnett is set to make his third rehab start of the season Monday with Triple-A Indianapolis.
The goal is to reportedly get Burnett to 80 or 85 pitches.
Burnett started Wednesday with Class-A Bradenton, in which he was touched up for eight runs in just 1 2/3 innings. He walked one batter and struck out four.
Burnett fouled a ball off his face and broke his orbital bone early in spring training. He promptly flew back to Pittsburgh and had surgery.
There is no timeline for Burnett's return, nor is there a target date.
