Best Hunter Pence Signs From NL Wild Card Game
Playoff baseball returned to Pittsburgh for the second straight year, but ended very differently than a year ago.
It's no secret that Pittsburgh sports fans are as passionate as they come. Think back to exactly one year ago, when tens of thousands of fans rattled Cincinnati Reds pitcher Johnny Cueto by chanting his name.
It was like watching NHL fans taunt the opposing goaltender in the playoffs.
At one point, Cueto dropped the ball on the mound. His very next pitch was a meatball that Russell Martin deposited into seats.
So, when this year's Wild Card matchup with the San Francisco Giants was established, there was an obvious target for fans.
His name? Hunter Pence.
Pence has become something of a social media phenomenon after Mets fans taunted him with witty signs earlier this year.
Immediately, #HunterPenceSigns took off on Twitter. So, it should come as no surprise that Pirates fans flooded PNC Park with their own signs last night.
Unfortunately, Pence and the Giants had the last laugh as they turned out the lights on Buctober with an 8-0 trouncing of the Pirates.
Anyway, here's a look at some of the best Hunter Pence signs from PNC Park:
