Fall is fast approaching and that means pleasant weather. Fall festivals are the perfect excuse to get outside during the weekends and enjoy the last bit of warm weather and sunshine before the winter starts. From celebrating the changing leaves to finding out about new home innovation, these fall festivals will make great additions to this season's social calendar.

September 10, 11, 17 and 18, 2016; all day

Idlewild Park is a great family summer destination, but Fall Of The Leaf Weekends are a great reason to make one more trip to this family-friendly amusement park. Enjoy special food offers, character meet-and-greets and crafts all weekend. From 11 a.m. - 7 p.m. each day, you will find crafters along the Olde Idlewilde Midway. Kids will also have a chance to meet Blossom, the Fall Leaf Pixie, throughout the day at the Hillside Theater.

Maker Faire is a large-scale show and tell event that is part county fair, part science fair and a weekend of educational fun for the family. Throughout the faire, you will also see special performances, speakers demonstrations and workshops. It is the perfect place to spend the day with the little inventor in your life.

The Festival of Homes event, brought to you by the Builders Association of Metropolitan Pittsburgh, is where you can see the latest in new home innovation throughout the Pittsburgh area. Visit new communities and tour model homes all over the Pittsburgh area. Whether you are looking for a new home or just some inspiration, the Festival of Homes is a great way to spend a weekend afternoon.

Dance the night away to great music and take home a commemorative mug to use for all of your craft beer tastings.

Have you ever considered going to Kennywood Park just for the food? Now is your chance. Enjoy this exclusive evening of craft brews and food at beautiful Kennywood Park. The event features food from Kennywood stands and local food trucks, live music and craft beers from great makers such as Sam Adams, Penn Brewery, Church Brew Works and Great Lakes Brewing. The rides will not be operating, but there will be food and fun aplenty at this event.
