Best Beers To Go With Your Football Team
PITTSBURGH (KDKA) -- Beer and football. They're two things that just go together, like peanut butter and jelly.
That's why Thrillist put together this list of "the perfect beer for every 2015 NFL team."
We won't go through all of them, just the Steelers and some rivals.
STEELERS:
For the black and gold, Thrillist says Spoonwood Brewing Company's Smoke & Oats pairs best. Fittingly, Spoonwood is located in Bethel park. In addition to craft beers, they have a Sunday brunch and offer brewery tours.
And here are some of the beers suggested for the Steelers' rival teams:
RAVENS:
The team that gave us Ray Rice would also pair nicely with DuClaw Brewing Company's Repent beer. Thrillist says, "This Belgian strong pairs perfectly for finally deciding it might be time to stop sporting the Rice jersey."
BENGALS:
Don't read too much into it ... or do. Thrillist picked MadTree Brewing's PsycHOPathy IPA for this team.
BROWNS:
This really doesn't need much explanation, but here it goes. There are three constants in life: death, taxes and the Browns missing the playoffs. As such, Thrillist chose Great Lakes Cellar Dweller for the Browns.
PATRIOTS:
Although Thrillist chose the Blue Hills Brewery's Quarter Mile Double IPA for different reasons, we think maybe an extra dose of hops could be just what the team needs to re-inflate some of its footballs.
SEAHAWKS:
Holy Mountains Brewing's The Goat. We'd be willing to bet that head coach Pete Carroll, offensive coordinator Darrell Bevell and quarterback Russell Wilson enjoyed a few of these after that horrendous play call at the end of the Super Bowl.
