4-1-Zoo: Big East Tourney Guide, Day 2
PITTSBURGH — After one day of play at the Big East Tournament at Madison Square Garden, there's already been drama.
Villanova continued its downward spiral, losing to South Florida after building a 16-point halftime lead. The Wildcats managed just a point a minute in the second half and lost, 70-69.
That game doesn't have any direct effect on Pitt — at least not yet — but today's action will. Here's the schedule for today:
Big East Tournament 2011 – Second Round – March 9th, 2011
No. 8 Georgetown vs No. 9 UConn 12:00 p.m. ESPN
No. 5 St. John's vs No. 13 Rutgers 2:00 p.m. ESPN
No. 7 Cincinnati vs No. 15 USF 7:00 p.m. ESPN
No. 6 WVU vs No. 11 Marquette 9:00 p.m. ESPN
The winners will advance to the quarterfinal round. The winner of the Georgetown-UConn game will face Pitt at noon Thursday.
Here's the Thursday schedule and how it will pan out depending on Wednesday's results:
2011 Big East Tournament – Quarterfinals – March 10th, 2011
