Woman behind hoax threat at Joint Base McGuire-Dix Lakehurst wanted to "trauma bond" with coworkers
A federal civilian employee based at Joint Base McGuire-Dix Lakehurst in New Jersey is facing federal charges in connection with an active shooter hoax.
According to authorities, Malika Brittingham sent a text to someone that a shooter was on the base.
Court documents say Brittingham told investigators that she carried out the hoax, hoping to “trauma bond” with her coworkers.
