Christians mark the start of the Lenten season on Ash Wednesday
Many Christians will mark the start of Lent on Ash Wednesday with a day of fasting and reflection. In Philadelphia, Saint Peter's Episcopal Church offered "ashes-to-go" in Washington Square Park, and Archbishop Nelson Perez will hold mass and distribute ashes at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul Wednesday at noon.
