So far, only 23% of the shots have been given to Black Philadelphians, that's compared to 57% that have been given to Whites.

This is unfolding quickly as there are now almost 9,000 cases of monkeypox in less than three months.

The plan would allow providers to administer one-fifths of the recommended dosage.
A day after monkeypox was declared a public health emergency, advocates say the additional resources can't come fast enough. The vaccine is still very limited and cases are spreading quickly.

Throughout the nation, there are now more than 6,600 cases and those figures are expected to rise.
As of Tuesday night, Pennsylvania has reported 173 cases, followed by New Jersey with 160, and Delaware with 5.
