Marcel Johnson, 22, was sentenced to death for the murder of four-year-old R'Mani Rankins and sentenced to life in prison for the murder of her pregnant mother, Ebony Talley.
The jury was sent home an hour after getting the case because a juror had to pick up a relative at the airport.
Marcel Johnson was found guilty of two counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Ebony Talley and her daughter R'mani Rankins in 2013, then setting their bodies afire.
Marcel Johson was convicted of stabbing Ebony Talley and her four-year-old daughter to death in 2013.
Prosecutors say Mardel Johnson killed Ebony Talley, five months pregnant at the time, and Talley's four-year-old daughter.
The final witness called by the prosecution on the 4th day of testimony was jailhouse snitch George Lewis, an inmate who was working in the Bucks County Prison as what's called a babysitter, assigned to watch a prisoner who might harm himself or others.
Bucks County assistant district attorney Matt Weintraub says he is confident the evidence will show defendant Marcel Johnson was the murderer.
22-year-old Marcel Johnson is charged with two counts of criminal homicide and one count of criminal homicide of an unborn child.
