The first full week of spring has felt more like winter. High temperatures this past week were below average for this time of year.
The current jet stream pattern continues to resemble the pattern we were in for much of the winter. The good news, the strong March sun won't allow for bitterly cold temperatures.
This morning brought rain and even some thunderstorms to parts of the Delaware Valley. It was a different story in the Lehigh Valley, Poconos, and Northern New Jersey where some snow fell.
Spring officially arrived at 7:21 PM Sunday evening. This is when the sun crosses directly over the equator and is called the Vernal Equinox.

What a nice weekend overall across the Delaware Valley with sunshine and highs in the mid 50s on Saturday and low 50s on Sunday.

After a wild and windy day on Friday, the weather has calmed down across the Delaware Valley for the weekend.
Last night's snowstorm ended before daybreak but just enough snow fell to cause travel issues. The hardest hit areas were from around Philadelphia on south into southern NJ, Delaware, and northeastern MD.
After a taste of spring last week, winter returns with a couple rounds of rain and snow. The first round arrives Sunday night through Monday morning. The second round arrives Monday evening through very early Tuesday morning.
