Wintry Precipitation Returning To New Jersey This Week

TRENTON, N.J. (AP) - Winter weather is poised to make a return to New Jersey.

Forecasters say a mix of rain, sleet and snow will start Sunday night and continue off and on through Tuesday morning. The storms are not expected to have a major impact on the region, but could make for some tricky travel at times.

The first system should reach the state Sunday night and drop a cold rain in most spots.

But the National Weather Service has issued winter weather advisories for Bergen, Essex, Hudson, Passaic, Union and Sussex counties, with 2 to 6 inches of snow possible. They will be in effect from midnight Sunday through Monday morning.

Southern areas could see some light snow accumulation late Monday and early Tuesday as another system moves through.
