Temple Hoops Fans Hoped For A Different Outcome In Nail-Biter Loss
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple fans were hoping for a different outcome.
A frustrating 72-70 loss to the University of Iowa Hawkeyes for Temple Owl fans, as much of the game was nail-bitingly close.
Despite the loss, still plenty of pride on TU's campus. Many fans were just thrilled that the team made it to the big dance this year.
A passionate crowd of about 100 students and alumni gathered at Mitten Hall for the on-campus watch party Friday afternoon.
Temple fans started with a lot of optimism and the Owls didn't disappoint. They kept the game close from beginning to end right through overtime. Ultimately, the Hawkeyes played just a little bit better.
Fans can take small consolation in getting to cheer on Big Five rival Villanova, as the Wildcats take on Iowa on Sunday.
Still overall, a great year for Temple sports given how well the football team also did this year.
