Sixers Announce Old School Artists To Headline Halftime Concert Series
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Go to any block party, house party, barbecue or college bar and you can pretty much expect to hear every one of the artists featured in the Sixers upcoming Halftime Concert Series kicking off on Thursday, January 14.
The Sixers kicked it back to the 90's with a trio of hip hop/r&b acts to entertain the crowd during some upcoming halftimes.
On Thursday, the series kicks off with singer Montell Jordan who will perform his hit song, "This Is How We Do It," (a personal favorite of mine).
On January 30, the Sixers will welcome the hip hop duo Tag Team to the Center. They will perform "Whoomp! (There It Is)," in front of a more than likely big crowd as the Sixers face Stephen Curry and the Warriors that night.
Naughty By Nature will be in the building on Friday, March 18th as the Sixers take on Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook and the Thunder. They will be performing the classic, "Hip Hop Hooray."
Most of these songs came out before most of the Sixers players were born so hopefully Brett Brown lets them listen in for a little history lesson.
The Sixers will then fast forward into the 2000's when they welcome Cupid to the building to perform his dance party staple, "Cupid Shuffle." The whole building will be dancing along to that one on April 2 when the Sixers take on the Pacers.
If at least one of these songs is not on your next party's playlist, feel free not to invite me.
