BURLINGTON TOWNSHIP, N.J., (CBS) -- Police are investigating a recent rash of robberies at CVS stores across the region.
Police say the most recent robbery happened in South Jersey Sunday.
Police say a CVS store on Neck Road in Burlington Township, New Jersey was held up at about 7 a.m. Sunday.
Just as the store was opening, police say a male walked in and held two employees at gunpoint. Seen in the surveillance video, one had just unlocked the front door and was bringing in the morning papers when the alleged suspect follows the employee.
"Brandished a handgun, and took the two employees upstairs into the office where he instructed the manager on shift at the time to open the safe and he took all the money out of the safe," said Burlington Township Police Det. Marc Carnivale.
The alleged suspect made off on foot. Police believe it's the same man or men that allegedly hit as many as six CVS stores since July 5th in the Tri-State area, the first in Wilmington, Delaware then Abington, Montgomery Township, Newtown Borough, Aston on Saturday and Sunday Burlington, New Jersey.
"These individuals or this individual that if they are not ID'd and arrested, that this pattern of conduct will persist until they are," said Det. Carnivale.
Surveillance photos show a similar looking man wearing the same black hat, always showing a silver handgun entering the stores as they are opening or closing. Once he's seen with an alleged accomplice. The alleged suspect is described a black man in his 20's with a medium build and goatee.
Police are still working to see if these robberies are related.
