Phila. Police Officer Accidentally Strikes A 13-Year-Old Pedestrian

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- According to Philadelphia Police, an officer struck a pedestrian while driving in North Philadelphia on Friday afternoon.

Police say the officer hit a pedestrian around 5:15 p.m. while responding to an incident in the area. The accident took place near Broad Street and Fairmount Avenue.

Authorities say the pedestrian is a 13-year-old male and was taken to Hahnemann Hospital for treatment.

Officials say the boy is in stable condition and suffered facial injuries as a result of the accident.
