Police: Motorcyclist Killed In Montgomery Co. Hit-Run

HATFIELD, Pa. (CBS) - Police in Montgomery County are investigating a hit and run crash that claimed the life of a motorcyclist early Thursday morning.

The accident happened at about 6 a.m. on Bethlehem Pike (Rt. 309) near Sterling Drive in Hatfield Township.

Early reports indicate that a tractor-trailer struck a motorcycle and then fled the scene.

The motorcyclist, whose identity was not immediately known, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say it's possible the driver of the truck may have not known that the rig struck the victim.

Police say the striking vehicle had a white-colored tractor cab.

Route 309 is closed between Orvilla Road and Unionville Pike as police investigate the deadly crash.

The deadly crash remains under police investigation.
