Police ID Body Of Woman Found Dumped In Germantown Lot
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – Philadelphia police have identified a woman whose body was found in a wooded area Memorial Day.
The victim has been identified as 27-year-old Candece Holmes of the 6700 block of 17th Street in Philadelphia. The medical examiner said Holmes' cause of death was strangulation.
According to investigators, a neighbor spotted Holmes' body at about 7:45 p.m. on the curbside in a wooded area in the 5100 block of Rufe Street in Germantown and called police.
Authorities say Holmes' body was found wrapped in a white sheet.
The circumstances surrounding Holmes' death are unclear, but police say it does appear that her body was dumped at the location.
So far, no arrests have been made. The death remains under police investigation.
