Police: Drunken Driver Flees Crash, Leaves Hurt Teen In Car

GALLOWAY TOWNSHIP, N.J. (AP) — Authorities say an alleged drunken driver ran away from the scene of a two-car crash, leaving an injured 13-year-old in his vehicle.

Galloway Township police say 21-year-old Joseph Raymond faces numerous charges, including assault by auto and child endangerment.

Authorities say the Egg Harbor Township man was speeding when he rear-ended the other vehicle around 5:15 p.m. Sunday. Raymond soon fled the scene on foot, but a police dog helped officers track him down and he was found in a nearby wooded area.

Raymond and the other driver were both treated for undisclosed injuries. The 13-year-old was flown to a hospital, and further details on his condition were not disclosed.

A telephone number for Raymond could not be located Monday. It wasn't known if he has retained an attorney.
