PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce aren't the only ones giving out friendship bracelets. The Phillies have also hopped on the lettered bracelet trend and are giving away "Ring the Bell" exclusive ones at their game against the Pittsburgh Pirates Wednesday.

The Phillies secured a spot in the postseason Tuesday night with a 3-2 win over the Pirates. The team is now headed to the playoffs for the second straight year. Fans are already giddy with excitement over Red October.

But why friendship bracelets?

The fun little beaded bracelets might remind you of your childhood sleepaway summer camp days. Or maybe you've seen a TikTok or two of Swift's fans gearing up for The Eras Tour while stringing together some concert magic.

It seems Swift was the one who put friendship bracelets back on the map. The 33-year-old is a nostalgic musician. Since her rise to fame in the early 2000s, Swift has been known to pay tribute to her youth and those bittersweet growing up moments.

Enter the friendship bracelet phenomenon. In one of the Grammy Award-winner's latest tracks off her Midnights album, "You're On Your Own, Kid" Swift sings "So make the friendship bracelets, take the moment and taste it," and fans did just that.

The unique, colorful, lettered and beaded bracelets became an Eras-themed tradition for fans. Every concert the goal is for fans to connect and swap creations from one Swiftie to another.

Travis Kelce even tried his hand at making a friendship bracelet for Swift when he saw The Eras Tour at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City.

How Travis Kelce tried to give Taylor Swift his number

When Travis Kelce tried shooting his shot with pop star Taylor Swift, it didn't go as planned.

On Episode 50 of the New Heights Podcast with his brother, Eagles center Jason Kelce, the Chiefs star tight end detailed how he tried to give Swift his phone number recently before a concert in Kansas City. Before a Swift concert, Travis Kelce said he made a bracelet to give to her with his phone number on it.

But, unfortunately, Travis Kelce wasn't able to deliver the bracelet because she apparently didn't meet anyone before concerts in an effort to save her voice for her performance.

"She doesn't meet anybody, or at least she didn't want to meet me, so I took it personal," Travis Kelce said.

Jason Kelce said maybe Swift didn't want to meet his brother because of the Eagles' loss to the Chiefs in the Super Bowl. Swift, who's from West Reading, is an Eagles fan, so maybe he's got a point.

"She's a big Eagles fan, so maybe she just made something up and didn't want to talk to you," Jason Kelce said.

However, in a pop culture moment that is sure to make it in the 2023 highlight tape, Swift was spotted at a Chiefs game with Travis and Jason's mother, Donna Kelce back on Sunday, Sept. 24.

It's easy to see now that she has taken Travis Kelce's stardom to new heights. The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has finally spoken after the pop star showed up at Arrowhead Stadium.

On the latest episode of "New Heights with Jason and Travis Kelce," the 33-year-old praised Swift for "coming through and seeing me rock the stage."

"Shout out to Taylor for pulling up. That was pretty ballsy," Travis Kelce said. "I just thought it was awesome how everybody in the suite had nothing but great things to say about her. The friends and family. She looked amazing. Everybody was talking about her in a great light. On top of that, the day went perfect for Chiefs fans, of course. We script it all, ladies and gentlemen."

It looks like with whatever is going on between the two playmakers, one thing is for certain. These pictures may be worth 1,000 words but don't expect a relationship confirmation from Swift or Travis Kelce.

"I know that I brought all this attention to me, I'm the one that did the whole friendship bracelet thing and told everybody how butthurt I was that I didn't get to meet Taylor," Travis Kelce said on Wednesday's podcast. "You miss 100% [shots] you don't take, baby.

"What's real is that it is my personal life. I want to respect both of our lives. She's not in the media as much as I am doing this show every single week. … Like you said on that Thursday night game, I'm enjoying life and I sure as hell enjoyed this weekend," he said. "So everything moving forward, I think talking about sports and saying 'all right now' will have to be kind of where I keep it."
