Philadelphia Officer Injured In Crash With Fleeing Suspect
BRISTOL (CBS) -- A Philadelphia Police officer was injured when her cruiser was struck by a suspect involved in a chase in Bucks County early Friday morning. The car officers were chasing slammed into the Philadelphia patrol car and sent it spinning into a cemetery.
The pursuit began in Bristol Township at about 2:00 a.m., when Bucks County officers spotted a car running red lights.
Philadelphia police picked up the pursuit when the car sped into the city's Northeast section, before heading back into Bucks County.
The speeding car crashed into a Philadelphia police cruiser at Newport and Old Roger roads in Bristol, when the suspect tried to avoid stop strips that officers put on the road.
The suspect was arrested at the scene.
The officer was taken to Aria Health, where she was treated for her injuries and released.
