One Week After Toddler Found Dead In Haddon Township, Still No Official Cause Of Death

By David Spunt

CAMDEN, N.J., (CBS) -- Tuesday, October 20 marked one week since police found the body of three-year-old Brendan Creato in the woods, and authorities still have not announced the official cause of his death.

Creato was discovered Tuesday, October 13 in the woods half a mile from his dad's Haddon Township apartment. He spent the night at his dad's apartment Monday night. Brendan's parents are separated and D.J. Creato, his father, called police Tuesday morning. Authorities found his body three hours after the 911 call.

"I can't even look at his (Brendan's) picture right now without bursting out and crying. It's just devastating," Brendan's grandfather David Creato told Eyewitness News.

Employees at Haddonfield Floral are busy making the ribbons as a way to honor the little boy. The ribbons are tied to trees in Haddon Township.

"We're going to have several on our property," neighbor Mike Harkins said.

The Camden County Prosecutor's Office is handling the investigation and detectives have been tight lipped. An autopsy came back inconclusive last week. Authorities are now waiting for toxicology results. If you have any information, call the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.
