New Walmart Opens In Port Richmond

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) - The residents and business community of the Port Richmond and Kensington areas welcomed a brand new Walmart as it opened its doors today.

This is the city's 5th Walmart now open at the Aramingo Crossing shopping center located at Aramingo and Caster Avenues in Port Richmond.

Store manager Bubba Bohrs welcomed over 1,500 early morning shoppers as he cut the blue -&-white Walmart ribbon.

"We are really pleased to be a part of the Port Richmond community and it is truly an honor to see so many of our partners, neighbors and excited customers coming to us this morning."

The new store is a shot in the arm for the local economy and jobs. About 300 employees have been hired, and all are from the area.
