Ian Somerhalder Making Directorial Debut

It seems that Ian Somerhalder has many talents, and will soon be showcasing all of them. On January 22nd, Somerhalder will be directing an episode of The Vampire Diaries.

As a sweet congratulations for Somerhalder's career milestone, Nikki Reed baked him a cake that read "good luck I <3 U" in chocolate chips.

Taking to Instagram, Somerhalder wrote in part "The best thing to come home to! Wow, thank you you amazing @iamnikkireed -it's true. I start DIRECTING episode 616 of The Vampire Diaries tomorrow!!! I definitely need all the luck I can get!"

News outlets are widely reporting Ian and Nikki's engagement, although the couple has not yet confirmed it.
