Delaware Plays Home Finale Saturday Vs. James Madison

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- It will be the final home game of the season for Delaware on Saturday afternoon as the Blue Hens welcome #11 James Madison to Newark.

Delaware is 3-6 on the season (2-4 in the Colonial Athletic Association) after losing this past weekend to Albany, 17-6. This marked the third time in Delaware's last four games that they have been held without a touchdown. To try and spark the offense, the Blue Hens switched quarterbacks in the second half against the Great Danes as junior Blake Rankin relieved redshirt freshman Joe Walker. Neither signal caller was able to get much going. Head coach Dave Brock talks about where they go at quarterback from here.

"Well, we're going to go into the week and just try to figure out what style of play that we're going to use that's going to give us the best chance," Brock tells KYW Newsradio. "I'll probably make the decision later (Tuesday), maybe (Wednesday) and go forward. I wish the change (against Albany) had had more of an impact than it did, in terms of just trying to capture a spark, a little bit of a different something. But it really didn't amount to much from a production standpoint. So it's back to the drawing board and try to figure out what are our best opportunities in the match-up with James Madison."

James Madison is 7-2 (4-2 in the CAA). The Dukes started 7-0 but they have lost their last two games and they have also lost their fine starting quarterback, Vad Lee, to a season ending injury. Brock talks about what that loss does to the JMU offense.

"Really, a one game sample size, (Lee) played the vast majority of the Richmond game (on 10/24)," Brock says. "The kid they brought in at quarterback (Bryan Schor) has played really well. To go into William and Mary, where they are almost impossible to beat at home and they scored (41) points (losing 44-41), kind of who had the ball last. William and Mary is an exceptionally, exceptionally good football team and they battled with them right down to the end. Other than the result, I think that they would've been very pleased with how he played and what he did. Now they had a bye week prior to this game, so he's had another full week to acclimate and probably for them to really drill down on what he does really well. I would anticipate it would be a little bit different than Vad because he was such a dynamic runner, but their two backs (Cardon Johnson and Khalid Abdullah) are great players and there is no shortage of talent on their offensive football team."

Last season, Delaware beat JMU, in Harrisonburg, 30-23, in overtime.

Saturday's game will kickoff at 3:30pm.
