College Basketball: Owls Visit Fordham To Open A-10 Play
PHILADELPHIA (CBS) -- Temple University is getting ready to open play in the Atlantic 10 this week. The Owls will visit Fordham on Wednesday.
After last Thursday's loss at Villanova, Temple sits at 9-3 on the season. That loss knocked them out of the AP's Top 25.
Owls' head coach Fran Dunphy gives a status update on his team after twelve games:
"We haven't shot it particularly well. In reality our three-point shooting has not been as good as it needs to be, our foul shooting hasn't been as good as it needs to be.
"We've gotten to the line more than we have in the past, so the plusses are that we are getting shots and we are getting to the foul line. The minuses are that we aren't scoring it as much as we need to. I will say that our defense has been pretty solid," Dunphy told KYW Newsradio on Tuesday.

As for the match-up with Fordham, Dunphy says that team will be tough.
"They have a good record at this point (6-6), given where they were last year (2-26), and I think he (new Fordham coach Tom Pecora) really has a couple of very good players led by (forward) Chris Gaston, who is one of the best players in our league. And he's a guy we are really going to have to pay attention to," Dunphy said.
Temple is 36-12 in the Atlantic 10 over the last three seasons, and they are the three-time defending league champion.
Last season, Temple beat Fordham, 62-45.
